Hundreds of events will be held at venues in different districts of the capital until May 11 as part of the Moscow Victory Spring Festival, Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina said.

"Dear residents and guests of our city, we congratulate you on the 80th anniversary of the Victory and invite you to the festive program. The closing days of the festival will be especially intense," Sergunina said.

The program includes performances by musical groups and solo performers, as well as productions about defenders of the Motherland. So, on May 10, a play dedicated to the heroism of nurses at the front will be presented in Kuzminki, and on May 11, a production about a young man who found a letter from the 1940s and got into the past, and then met his great-grandfather, a Red Army soldier, will be shown in the Maryino district.

Creative, culinary and engineering classes are also planned as part of the festival. For example, a scientific studio of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University operates in the Veshnyaki district. Here, on May 9, 10, and 11, the guys will design hang glider models, create holiday cards using neural networks, and print figurines on a 3D printer. On May 10, children will make a model of a T-34 tank, a replica of an army truck and a mock-up of a BM-13 Katyusha launcher in the park near the Nekrasovka metro station.

Cooking classes will be held at several venues, including in the Shchukino, Kosino-Ukhtomsky, and Zyablikovo districts: buckwheat porridge with dried mushrooms and onions, Navy pasta with stewed beef and vegetables, and cottage cheese pie with berries.

Muscovites and tourists are also invited to taste honey cakes, pancakes with sour cream, pies, Moscow donuts and other treats at the festival locations. You can drink it down with apples and cinnamon, kvass, lemonades and fruit drinks.

The venues also feature original souvenirs made by craftsmen from different regions of the country: tin figurines of Red Army soldiers, models of tanks and cannons, books about the Great Patriotic War, records with Soviet songs.
