Meteorologists predict that a long weekend on the occasion of Victory Day in central Russia will not be pleased with the warmth. The temperature background will be more consistent with the middle of April than the beginning of May. During the holidays, the average daily air temperature in the center of the country will be 10-13 degrees. Even frosts are possible at night. Light rains are expected in Moscow and St. Petersburg on Victory Day. About when to expect warmth and how to dress for a long weekend — in the material of Izvestia.

On the eve of Victory Day, Izvestia has prepared a special project "Two Worlds. One War", dedicated to the history of the confrontation between the USSR and Germany from the mid-30s to the mid-40s of the last century.

What kind of weather awaits the capital region

During the holiday weekend in central Russia, including Moscow, it will be cool with light rains, meteorologists predict. In the capital region, the air temperature is expected to be 4-6 degrees below the climatic norm for all four days, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told Izvestia.

"Rains are likely to occur on May 9 and 11, but they will be light," he said. — The wind will be mostly from the north or northeast, so the daytime temperature will stay within 10 degrees.

Overnight frosts are possible on the night of May 9, the meteorologist added. But they will be small and will affect mainly the Moscow region.

Residents of the capital region can expect warm weather no earlier than mid-May, said Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency.

— On the afternoon of May 9, it will be cloudy with occasional light rain. At night, the temperature will remain low, and in some places it may drop to -1...-2 degrees. The daytime temperature will be about +13 degrees. The north wind will blow," she noted.

On Thursday, the minimum temperature in the capital will be +3...+5, in the region from +1 to +6 degrees. At the same time, the daytime temperature in Moscow will be a couple of degrees lower than on May 7, +10...+13 in the region.

On Friday, May 10, the weather will be without significant precipitation, and a light short-term rain is expected in the afternoon, as well as a northerly wind.

— The average daily air temperature on May 9th and 10th will be below the climatic norm. It will be +7...+8 degrees, which corresponds to the middle of April," added Tatiana Pozdyankova.

According to her, more precipitation is forecast for Sunday, May 11.

What is predicted in the regions

Cool weather is expected on Victory Day in most regions of Russia. Night frosts are possible not only in Moscow, but also in Ryazan, Tula, Kaluga, and Tver regions, Alexander Shuvalov said. In addition, wet snow is possible in the Novgorod and Leningrad regions.

— But he practically won't lie down on the ground. This is possible only in the east and northeast of European Russia.: Kirov, Izhevsk, Syktyvkar, — he shared.

In St. Petersburg, the air temperature on Victory Day will not even reach +10 degrees, according to the Phobos weather center. It will rain every day, possibly with sleet.

The real July heat will come to the upper reaches of the Ob River for the holiday. So, in Barnaul from Thursday it is expected to reach +26 degrees. And on May 9, the air may warm up to +30 degrees, Phobos added.

A wave of cold weather for the holidays will reach Crimea, Tatiana Pozdnyakova noted. On May 8-9, the wind will change to the north there, gusts can reach 12-17 m/s. At the same time, the daytime temperature will drop to +15..+20 degrees. Thus, the average daily air temperature will be 2-3 degrees below normal. The cool weather in Crimea will continue until the middle of the month, the meteorologist added.

How to prepare the body

Sudden changes in pressure and temperature can negatively affect health, doctors reminded Izvestia. So, they can provoke a migraine attack or worsen the course of a chronic headache, said Ekaterina Demyanovskaya, an expert at the Hemotest laboratory and a neurologist.

—Weather changes can also lead to an exacerbation of chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases, such as herpes virus infections, tonsillitis, sinusitis, and worsen the condition of patients suffering from bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease," she warned.

To help the body adapt to changes in the weather, you should try to avoid hypothermia or overheating, she recalled.

— Clothes should be suitable for the weather, preferably in several layers, so that they can be easily adjusted. In cold weather, you can take a thermos with a warm drink, and in hot weather, water. It is also important to monitor the air temperature in the room, do not forget to ventilate it regularly, and humidify the air," the doctor advised.

During the period when the temperature outside the window is changing, she also recommended reducing the use of table salt and caffeine — this will reduce the risk of pressure surges and reduce the load on the heart and blood vessels.

— It is important for people with cardiovascular diseases not to skip taking prescribed medications and keep a blood pressure monitor handy so that they can take timely action if necessary, - Ekaterina Demyanovskaya emphasized.

If you feel unwell, you should immediately contact your doctor so that he can adjust the treatment and help alleviate the symptoms, added Polina Litvinenko, head of one of the Russian Railways-Medicine polyclinics. If the deterioration of well-being against the background of weather changes occurs regularly, it is also worth contacting a doctor, she noted.

For summer residents, the cool May weather is a warning: do not rush to plant, because the soil is still cold, said Tatiana Pozdnyakova. She also called for warmer clothes when traveling outside the city.
