The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation does not plan to adjust the cut-off price of oil to replenish the National Welfare Fund (NWF) in the projections of the three-year budget. This was announced to journalists on May 6 by the head of the department Anton Siluanov during a briefing.

"There will be no change in the cut—off price in the three-year budget projections," he said.

Today, this threshold is $60 per barrel.

According to the budget rule, when the cut—off price for oil is exceeded, the authorities buy currency for the fund, and when it is reduced, they sell it. Speaking at an expanded board meeting of the Ministry of Finance in late April, Siluanov noted that changing this standard would meet the demands of the time.

Earlier that day, experts interviewed by Izvestia said that the price of cutting off oil to replenish the National Welfare Fund could be reduced to $50 per barrel Urals.
