On May 9, residents of St. Petersburg will see the broadcast of the Victory Day Parade on Palace Square, live broadcasts from the route of the Immortal Regiment, the passage of retro equipment along Nevsky Prospekt, as well as the premieres of original documentaries created by the presenters of the 78 TV channel. In the evening, famous compositions will be performed by artists of the St. Petersburg stage and military orchestras in the special project "Songs of Victory".

The festive broadcast will traditionally be opened by the broadcast of the Victory Day Parade — at 10:00 about a hundred military vehicles will pass through the Palace Square. Military personnel of the Leningrad Military District, the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, cadets of military universities, cadets, Suvorov and Nakhimov students will take part in the Parade.

At 3 p.m., a special edition of Izvestia 78. The Immortal Regiment will be broadcast. It is an hour and a half of live broadcast with thematic stories and live broadcasts from correspondents working on the route of the Immortal Regiment. This year's event in St. Petersburg will be held in a full—time format - six cameras will film the procession from different points. Igor Maksimenko will talk about the start of the action on Alexander Nevsky Square, and Daniil Lankov will follow along with a walking column along Nevsky Prospekt from Vosstaniya Square, recording people's emotions and the general atmosphere live on Izvestia 78.

The information picture of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in St. Petersburg will be complemented by the premieres of the author's documentary projects. All of them were shot by the creative team and presenters of the 78 TV channel — Nika Strizhak, Roman Kiryukhin, Sergey Fadeev and Ilya Mikhailov-Sobolevsky. Each author chose a specific theme, resulting in four original films with unique characters and an author's narrative line. The first broadcast will be of the four-part TV project "Special Forces Pilots". It's about the heroes of the air bridge, who connected the besieged city with the mainland even before the Road of Life began. The next premiere will be Niki Strizhak's film "Hermitage Fortress". Its name is a poignant image: in the center of the besieged city stands an empty, frozen palace with plywood-covered windows. The palace is a fortress where people save him, and he saves people. "Hermitage Fortress" of museum curators and dedication to their work. In a special edition of the Paragraph program, author and presenter Sergey Fadeev will continue the theme of the resilience of the residents of the besieged city. His documentary work tells about radio broadcasting in besieged Leningrad. After a minute of silence, as a tribute to the memory of the fallen soldiers and their heroism, Roman Kiryukhin's "Search" will be broadcast. The film reveals the details of the work of the search teams, which, 80 years later, continue to stubbornly restore the real picture of the events of the Great Patriotic War.

The musical project "Songs of Victory", which won the hearts of the audience, will sound different this year — orchestras will join the St. Petersburg musicians performing military songs. The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Leningrad Military District, the Russian Army Choir, the ART BAND Police Orchestra of the GUMVD Cultural Center of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as well as the F.M. Kozlov Choir of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and Military Service took part in the filming.

The final chord of the broadcast on May 9 will be a festive fireworks display over St. Petersburg.
