The expert gave advice on choosing a bag

A bag is not just an accessory, but an element that can set the tone for an entire look. Marina Toropova, head of the SOKOLOV Leather Goods brand, told Izvestia on May 7 how to choose a color that does not bother for a long time, easily combines with the wardrobe and remains relevant for several years.
If you want the bag to fit everything and not become outdated, it's best to choose basic shades.
"Black, dark brown, cognac, graphite and dark blue are classics that are timeless. They are suitable for any season and can be easily combined with almost any clothing," Toropova explained.
Beige can also be an excellent choice, but, as the expert noted, in this case it is important to be more careful.
"Not every beige is universal. It is better to choose neutral, calm shades without a pronounced yellow or pink undertone," she advised.
The bright and acidic shades of the bags are a bold but difficult decision. Neon or saturated bright bags require a perfect selection of clothes, otherwise it is easy to disrupt the harmony of the image. Such colors often attract attention to themselves and may look out of place in everyday sets, Toropova said.
According to her, snow—white bags are another potential problem. They are spectacular in photographs, but in real life they quickly lose their neat appearance, especially in rainy or snowy weather.
At the same time, some focus on the "color of the year" according to Pantone, choosing accessories in fashionable shades like ultraviolet or peach. However, according to the expert, it is worth remembering: fashion is changeable. Colors that are currently at the peak of popularity may seem outdated tomorrow.
"Trendy shades are good if they fit seamlessly into your personal style. But if you want versatility, it's better to choose a calm classic," Toropova said.
However, she clarified that the color of the bag depends on the type of clothing. Neutral shades are better suited for everyday looks: gray, khaki, warm beige. Black, navy blue or graphite are ideal for office wardrobe. For evening outings, you should choose bags of rich deep colors: bordeaux, emerald, sapphire. If you want to add shine, use metallic shades of gold or silver.
Toropova added: if you want the bag to remain relevant for several seasons, you should avoid excessively bright shades: bright orange, acid green, fuchsia. Such colors quickly become boring to the eye and are more difficult to combine with a changing wardrobe.
Light-colored bags require particularly careful care: genuine leather absorbs dirt quickly. Dark colors, in turn, can fade in the sun. When choosing, it is important to take into account not only aesthetic preferences, but also lifestyle: how often and in what conditions it is planned to carry the bag.
However, when choosing a bag, you should think not only about fashion, but also about practicality. Universal colors are a guarantee that the accessory will delight for many years to come.
"The bag should not only decorate the image, but also work for your style — to facilitate, rather than complicate, the choice of clothes," concluded Toropova.
Earlier, on April 30, personal stylist Nadezhda Podchernyaeva told Izvestia that when choosing clothes in an online store, it makes sense to pay attention to how open the brand is in the visual representation of its products. If the product profile contains close—ups of zippers, seams, and linings, the manufacturer is most likely confident in the quality of the tailoring. The absence of such details often suggests the opposite.
