The creation of dog parks and dog walking areas will continue in Moscow, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. According to him, systematic work in this direction has been underway since 2021 with the participation of dog handlers and taking into account the wishes of residents.

"The next step is to create full—fledged dog parks, where you can not only walk with dogs, but also hold exhibitions and competitions. The area of each park is more than one hectare of land," Sobyanin wrote on his blog.

To date, 79 sites are already operating in Moscow according to the new standard, some of which were built from scratch, and some were reconstructed. In 2023, the first 1.3-hectare cynological park opened in Babushkinsky district on Kolskaya Street, which has become one of the largest cynological centers in Moscow.

The second park started operating last year in Tsaritsyno on Timurovskaya Street. On the day of the dog handler on June 21, 2025, as part of the series of events "Friend, Rescuer, Defender", the city festival "Dog is a friend in the service of the Fatherland" will be held here, the mayor said.

Dog parks are equipped with a special entrance-a vestibule with double gates, equipment for training and competitions, bleachers with canopies for spectators and a podium space with animal boxes. The territories are divided into several functional zones.

In 2024, more than 200 events were held at the venues: lectures, master classes, veterinary consultations and demonstrations. 26 thousand Muscovites took part in them.
