The deputy proposed to extend preferential mortgages to young scientists

Preferential mortgages are proposed to be extended to young scientists. As Izvestia found out on May 7, Leonid Slutsky, the head of the LDPR faction, made such a request to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"I ask you to extend the possibility of the mortgage lending program, which provides the possibility of obtaining a mortgage of up to 9 million rubles at a rate of 6% with an initial payment of 20%, to persons who are young scientists," the document says, which is available to Izvestia.
In this document, young scientists are citizens of the Russian Federation who hold positions of researchers in scientific organizations founded by the government of the Russian Federation or a federal executive authority, as well as research and teaching staff in educational institutions of higher education with a similar founder.
These specialists must have an academic degree of candidate of sciences or doctor of Sciences, total work experience as a researcher and (or) scientific and pedagogical worker for at least five years, while their age should not exceed 35 years for candidates of sciences and 40 years for doctors of sciences.
"Every young scientist should be sure that they have prospects and comfortable working and living conditions in Russia. For many years, we have ignored these immutable standards for researchers all over the world. Now the government is paying more and more attention to young scientists. However, in such an important issue as the provision of preferential mortgages for the purchase of housing, the opportunity for young scientists is not provided," Leonid Slutsky explained to Izvestia.
According to him, the government is proposed to extend preferential mortgages to this most important category of citizens. The state should motivate young people to go into science. And for this, we need clear prospects for the future.
On February 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on awarding prizes in the field of science and innovation for young scientists in 2024. According to the decree, the prize was awarded to Elena Korochkina, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor of the Department of St. Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine, for developing innovative methods for the effective realization of the genetic and reproductive potential of Russian animal husbandry.
