Sergunina announced the dates of the Moscow Museum Week campaign in May

The Moscow Museum Week campaign will be held in the capital from May 12 to 18, Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina said. Everyone will be able to visit exhibitions dedicated to history, art, natural sciences, as well as famous cultural figures, scientists and heroes of our country for free.
"Since the beginning of the year, more than 330,000 people have visited Moscow museums as part of the campaign. In May, 89 sites are waiting for citizens and tourists," Natalia Sergunina said.
This year, one of the main themes of the exhibitions was the anniversary of the Victory. For example, the Museum of Cosmonautics has opened an exhibition "Maestro, take off!", which introduces the exploits of the pilots of the 5th Guards Fighter Aviation of the Berlin Red Banner Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky Regiment. During the Great Patriotic War, they flew 15,000 combat missions and destroyed about 700 enemy aircraft. The exhibition features the squadron's banner, awards and personal belongings of the pilots.
In the panorama museum "Battle of Borodino" you can see drawings by front-line artists Nikolai Zhukov, Leonid Golovanov, Anatoly Gorpenko and others. The works show how peaceful life was revived in the territories liberated from the Nazi occupation.
The Lefortovo History Museum will present the exhibition "News from the Front" with letters and postcards from participants in the battles of 1941-1945.
Also, as part of the campaign, you can visit the exhibition "The Beauty of Peasant Life", which takes place in the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. It includes samples of decorative and applied art of the XIX-XX centuries: antique clothes and towels with embroidery, carved dishes and toys, painted spinning wheels and chests, forged holders for kindling. And the Kuskovo estate has a collection of artistic ceramics from the XX-XXI centuries. The exhibition includes about 800 items.
