Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who plans to visit Moscow to participate in the celebration, ignored the offer to come to Kiev. This was reported on May 6 by the newspaper Metrópoles.

"He ignored the invitation to visit Kiev," the newspaper quoted an unnamed diplomat as saying.

According to the newspaper, Lula's trip to Russia is considered by Ukraine as a "hostile act." In addition, the president's visit may cause a "lowering of the level of diplomatic relations" between Kiev and Brasilia.

The Brazilian newspaper Metrópoles reported on May 1 that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had sent letters to the head of Brazil at least six times asking for a meeting. In addition, it was clarified that since 2023, the head of the Kiev regime has sent messages to which he has not received answers.
