- The Ukrainian media pointed to the advantage of the United States in managing Ukraine's investments

Representatives of the United States will have an advantage in managing the Ukrainian investment fund, which will be created under the agreement on natural resources. This was reported on May 6 by the Ukrainian resource "Mirror of the Week", citing sources.
The article states that the investment fund will be managed by a board with an equal number of representatives from Ukraine and the United States. He will be assisted by four committees — investment, administrative, audit and project search.
Moreover, the majority of the management will be made up of representatives of the United States. The first and second committees will have three American managers and two Ukrainian ones, the third will have two representatives from Washington and Kiev each, and the fourth will have the advantage of three representatives against two from the United States.
"As you can see, we will only be entrusted with the search for projects, in other matters we are in the minority and generally not really needed. In addition, there are a number of issues that are generally coordinated exclusively by US managers," the Ukrainian publication pointed out.
It also stated the difference in the responsibility of the parties for possible violations of the agreement. If the Ukrainian partner "violates at least something," then his managers lose all voting rights in the board and relevant committees of the fund. At the same time, penalties for violations by the American partner are not provided and are not mentioned..
On May 1, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Washington and Kiev had signed an agreement on natural resources. In addition, the countries have concluded a deal on the creation of an investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine, he added.
The next day, Marjorie Taylor Green, a member of the US House of Representatives, a Republican from Georgia, said that the US-Ukrainian deal on mineral resources could lead to a new armed conflict.
