Kiriyenko called ensuring the safety of the NPP the main task of employees


On May 6, Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, said that the main task of the employees of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is to ensure the safety of the plant's operation.
"Sergey Vladilenovich [Kiriyenko] stressed that the NPP operates within the legal framework of the Russian Federation," wrote the Telegram channel of the power plant.
According to the press service of the NPP, at the moment all six units of the power plant are in a state of "cold shutdown". This year, the NPP needs to obtain a license to operate Unit No. 1 "in accordance with the requirements of Russian legislation."
On April 17, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) carried out three strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles on the satellite city of Zaporizhia NPP Energodar in the Zaporizhia region. A vehicle was damaged as a result of the attack.
On April 18, Rostechnadzor, together with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), monitored the operational condition of the turbine department equipment of two NPP power units. It was clarified that the radiation background at the site and in the observation area is normal and does not exceed natural values.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 13 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were terrorizing the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. According to her, the Russian side is doing everything possible to ensure safety at the station.
