President of Guinea-Bissau Oumaru Sisoku Embalo intends to pay a visit to Russia to participate in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was reported on May 6 by the Lusa news agency, citing a diplomatic source.

It is noted that the Guinean leader will be on a trip abroad from May 6 to May 10. Today, on Tuesday, the politician is on his way to Belarus on an official visit. Then, by May 9, he will arrive in Russia to participate in the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow on Red Square.

After that, he will immediately fly to Osaka, Japan, where he intends to visit the Expo 2025 exhibition.

On May 3, Serbia confirmed that President Aleksandar Vucic would keep his promise and attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow, despite the fact that he briefly felt unwell and went to the doctors. The Serbian president himself announced on May 1 that he intends to visit Moscow on May 9 and take part in Victory Day celebrations, despite pressure from the European Union (EU).

The country's main Victory anniversary parade will traditionally take place on Red Square in Moscow. It will be attended by a number of foreign leaders, including Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Lula da Silva.

As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on April 30, the high-level representation of many countries at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow indicates that they share the importance of the May 9 holiday. In his opinion, Russia has not just allies, but states that are close in spirit and ideology.
