When encountering a shark in the sea, you should behave as calmly as possible and not make unnecessary movements. Zoologist Andrey Podluzhnov told Izvestia about this on May 6.

"The basic advice is always: don't panic, stay confident, don't swim in deep water. Because sharks generally attack from below, they first circle around you, then dive in and attack. <...> If you wave your arms, legs, yell, or spank, you will simply attract unnecessary attention," the expert emphasized.

According to him, humans are not attractive to this predator in terms of food. Sharks mostly hunt large fish or seals and rarely attack humans — these are isolated cases.

On May 5, Turkish media reported that vacationers on the beach in Antalya saw a two-meter shark off the coast. This is not an isolated case for the region.

At the same time, according to the zoologist, the animals are where they feel safe. And there are a lot of people making noise on the beaches of Antalya, so it's unlikely to find large fish there. But the risk of shark attacks cannot be completely excluded, as sometimes species that are dangerous to humans swim to regions where they are not expected to be seen, for example, to the Far East.

On April 23, as the Associated Press reported, a diver was mauled by a shark off the coast of Israel. It was clarified that the remains found on the Mediterranean coast of the country correspond to the body of a man.
