The renovated Victory Park was opened in Omsk


The renovated Victory Park with an exhibition of military equipment has started operating in Omsk. This was announced on May 6 by the governor of the region Vitaly Khotsenko.
"Today, the exposition of military equipment of the Patriot Park, which we opened in the renovated Victory Park, began operating in Omsk," the head of the region wrote on the Telegram channel.
An architectural composition in the form of Victory Stars with built-in LED screens was prepared for visitors at the entrance. Next to the military equipment displayed on the parade ground, there are interactive whiteboards with information about combat vehicles.
During the opening ceremony, a solemn ceremony was held to lay a Time Capsule addressed to the participants of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Victory in 2045. The appeal reflects the region's contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
"During the Great Patriotic War, thousands of tanks and planes, ammunition and much more were sent from the Omsk region to the front line. Omsk became one of the country's defense centers at that time and remains one to this day," Khotsenko added.
In addition, a ceremony of simultaneous lighting of 20 Eternal Lights was held in the Omsk region. According to the website of the regional government, in the Omsk region, 20 Eternal Lights were connected to the grid gas in 11 municipal districts and in the regional center. Compared to last year, their number has increased by 11.
On May 3, a large-scale geoglyph consisting of the inscription "80 years of Victory" and an image of a five-pointed star was planted in Patriot Park in honor of Victory Day. Seedlings of turf and pemphigus were used to create the geoglyph. The young trees are named trees, they were planted in honor of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and participants in a special military operation.
