Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will pay an official visit to Russia "in the near future." This was announced on May 6 by the country's Minister of Trade and Industry, Tengku Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz.

"The Prime Minister is expected to meet with partners and companies trading and investing in Malaysia, as well as hold meetings with Malaysian investors in Russia," the Malay Mail newspaper quoted him as saying.

He noted that Malaysia will deepen cooperation with BRICS and further develop and expand its markets.

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim discussed all the planned issues, including nuclear energy, during a meeting on February 27. The discussion also touched upon the topic of economic cooperation in the financial sector. Shoigu stressed that certain successes have been achieved, in particular, we are talking about the floating nuclear power plant in Pevek, which has already begun its work.
