The Tula Region took the first place in the Central Federal District in terms of retail trade turnover by the end of 2024. This became known during a meeting of the regional government, where the development of trade and measures to support the industry were discussed.
According to Alexander Ilyinsky, the regional Minister of Business Development and Trade, quoted by TSN24, the figure last year exceeded 530 billion rubles. Tula took the fourth place in the whole country. Wholesale trade turnover also increased by 17% in 2024.
In total, more than 12.7 thousand stationary retail enterprises and about 4 thousand non-stationary retail outlets operated in the region. The industry provides employment for 120,000 local residents.
Governor Dmitry Milyaev instructed to develop a unified approach to the organization of local fairs. He approved the development of a standard for trade development and ordered to submit a plan to curb price increases by May 20.
Earlier it was reported that on April 27, the Tula Regional Duma signed interparliamentary agreements on cooperation with the people's councils of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR, LPR). According to Duma Chairman Andrei Dubrovsky, the region continues to rebuild Mariupol, and sports facilities and kindergartens have recently been opened in the city.
