- The reality show about science "Acceleration of Space" is gaining popularity in Russia
There is a growing interest in Russia in the new popular science reality show "Overclocking Cosmos", in which schoolchildren, under the guidance of mentors, work on engineering tasks and implement their own developments. The project is being implemented on the VKontakte platform, where the first series has already been released. This was reported on May 6 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
Four teams from different regions participate in the show. A team from Chelyabinsk will assemble and launch a satellite with a repeater into the stratosphere to transmit a signal over long distances, according to journalist Ksenia Soldatova.
"It's very unusual, I can't even believe it. I'm a roboticist, and here's space, a rheostat. That's a wow! Cool," said team member Arina Zinkovskaya.
Students independently solder, program and mount the satellite under the guidance of specialists, and curators, including representatives of Roscosmos, help them. During the balloon flight, the guys will conduct experiments: they will test solar panels, balloon configurations and other technical solutions. All stages are evaluated by the project's jury.
"The launches are evaluated by our competent jury: how they were assembled, the results of this assembly, the results of the launch, the results of the so—called controlled fall, which is also very difficult," added Anna Dunaeva, coordinator of the Razgon youth community.
Overclocking Cosmos is part of a series of projects by Innopraktika aimed at involving young people in engineering professions. According to Natalia Popova, the first deputy CEO of the company, the purpose of reality TV is not just to prepare for the Unified State Exam, but to form a conscious interest in science and technology.
In addition to "Cosmos", other projects are taking place within the framework of "Dispersal": "Dispersal of the Constellation" on history and "Dispersal of Agro", dedicated to agriculture. Cosmonaut Andrey Babkin and engineer Yana Minyailo became the hosts of the "Acceleration Cosmos".
Earlier, on April 4, it was reported that the new youth project "Dispersal" is gaining popularity among students and schoolchildren throughout Russia. Thanks to the platform, participants from all over the country can complete training in various specialties, communicate with professionals or interview them. Overclocking is a project that aims to unite, captivate and inspire young people from all over the country.
