Alexander Galchenyuk was confirmed as the head coach of the Amur hockey club. This was announced on May 6 on the club's page on the VKontakte social network.

"Alexander Nikolaevich Galchenyuk has been approved by the Board of Trustees of HC Amur for the position of head coach," the publication says.

Galchenyuk participated in the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano, and also played for the national team of Belarus at four world championships and the Canadian Cup. After completing his playing career, he worked as an assistant coach at the SarniaSting Club in the Ontario Hockey League, and then engaged in individual player training in both the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

On April 30, the head coach of the Beijing Kontinental Hockey League club Kunlun Red Star, Mikhail Kravets, resigned from his post. Under his leadership, the team posted a record winning streak and narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing ninth in the Western Conference at the end of the regular season.
