The Russian Embassy reminded Slovaks wishing to visit Kiev on May 9 about Bandera

Slovak politicians wishing to come to Kiev on May 9 should keep in mind who exactly the current Kiev authorities are praising. This was announced on May 5 at the Russian Embassy in Slovakia in response to calls from some Slovak politicians to come to the capital of Ukraine for the holiday.
"Having arrived in Kiev and heard the Bandera slogan "Glory to Ukraine — glory to the heroes!", think about who the current Kiev authorities are praising and who you support," the diplomatic mission said in a message on the VKontakte social network.
In addition, the embassy recalled that the Kiev authorities changed the name of General Vatutin Avenue, which liberated Ukraine from the Nazis, to Shukhevych, "the leader of the Ukronazis during World War II." Also near the avenue is the Babin Yar tract, where "German executioners and their Ukrainian henchmen killed over 150,000 Jews, Gypsies and Soviet prisoners of war of various nationalities."
On May 4, Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Tibor Gaspar announced that none of the leaders of the European Union (EU) countries were going to Kiev for events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory. According to him, this is due to negotiations between Russia and the United States. EU leaders do not want to show their support for both sides.
