The nominal salary of Russians will increase many times in the coming years, as predicted by the Ministry of Economic Development. Svetlana Sazanova, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Theory at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, Candidate of Economic Sciences, told about this on Monday, May 5.

According to forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Development, over the next four years, the nominal salary will increase by 51.15% — from 102,728 rubles in 2025 to 132,940 rubles in 2028, RT reports.

According to the expert, this is due to rising inflation.

"The increase in nominal salaries of Russians is certainly more related to inflation, because the real component is much more modest. This is due to the fact that real wage growth is always associated with an increase in labor productivity in the leading sectors of the economy. But cost inflation, which currently has not been curbed by the monetary policy of the Bank of Russia, will make a significant contribution to the growth of nominal wages," Sazanova said in an interview with the "Paragraph".

The economist added that real wages will increase by 6-8% over the year if GDP growth is about 4-5%. 360.ru .

Earlier, on April 30, State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab warned that by receiving salaries in envelopes, Russians risk being left without a decent pension.

She clarified that insurance premiums that could be used for future pension provision are not paid from the salary in the envelope. As a result, the payouts will be lower.
