The average life expectancy of Muscovites has approached 80 years. On Monday, May 5, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported this to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a working meeting in the Kremlin.
"As a result, the development of the economy, healthcare, and a healthy lifestyle," the Moscow City News agency quoted the official as saying.
According to him, this indicator will amount to 79.5 years in 2024. He called this a good European and global result, writes RT. Sobyanin noted that Russia has a completely different climate.
The mayor added that despite the unfavorable demographic trends, the capital retains the role of one of the few Russian regions where natural population growth is recorded, Moscow 24 reports.
Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Sobyanin and noted the good indicators of Moscow's development. The mayor, in turn, reported to the president that in 2024 a large-scale program for the reconstruction of polyclinics was completed in Moscow, and over the next 3-4 years there are plans to upgrade inpatient facilities, notes Life.ru .
