Myanmar's leader to visit Russia and take part in Victory Day Parade

The Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, General Min Aung Hlaing, will pay a visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow. This was announced on May 5 by the local state broadcaster Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV).

"Chairman of the State Administrative Council, Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will pay a friendly visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin," the publication says.

According to the state broadcaster, during the visit, the Prime Minister of Myanmar plans to meet with the leaders of the states who will come for the holiday. Members of the Myanmar State Administrative Council, as well as a number of high-ranking officials, will come to Russia with Hline.

The parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory will traditionally be held in Moscow on Red Square. It will be attended by foreign leaders from various countries, including President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and President of Brazil Lula da Silva.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the high-level representation of many countries at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow indicates that they share the importance of the May 9 holiday. He also believes that Russia has not just allies, but states that are close in spirit and ideology.
