During the May holidays, Russian cinemas saw a noticeable increase in attendance, from 1.2 million to 2.1 million viewers over the weekend. The leader of the rental was the military drama about the heroic defense of the Brest fortress "Not on the list" with Vladimir Mashkov, which earned 235 million rubles. The paintings "Kraken" with Sasha Petrov and "Batya 2" are still in the top. Grandfather" with Vladimir Vdovichenkov and Evgeny Tsyganov. The latter is approaching 1.5 billion in total fees. Izvestia summarizes the results of the Russian box office over the past weekend.

The film "Was not on the list" topped the box office

For several weeks, cinema attendance figures have been consistently low and have been around 1.2 million people per weekend. The first long weekend in May brought a noticeable increase to 2.1 million viewers.

— Not the warmest and sunniest weather contributed to the increase in the number of viewers. Busy people finally have the opportunity for leisure. The rental is full of high—quality Russian releases, which in synergy generate a higher influx of moviegoers," Olga Zinyakova, president of the KARO cinema chain, explained to Izvestia.

The weekend presented the audience with several high-profile domestic novelties at once. Among them is the melodrama with Vladimir Vdovichenkov and Yulia Peresild "Hello to My Husband", which won the Russian Premieres competition at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival. Despite the recognition of the expert community, the picture, however, aroused less interest among viewers than other new releases, and did not make it into the top ten of the box office. Another participant in the MIFF program, the film "Legends of Our Ancestors" by Ural director Ivan Sosnin, made his debut at the domestic box office from the ninth line. The tape with Alexander Yatsenko in the role of a reporter who begins to hear the ancient spirit, according to the EAIS, earned 17 million rubles in the first weekend.

The military drama about the defense of the Brest Fortress "Not on the list", based on the novel of the same name by Boris Vasiliev, led the domestic distribution by a serious margin. For the first time, the film with Vladimir Mashkov and the young actor Vladislav Miller was shown during the opening of the Moscow Film Festival. During her debut weekend at the box office, she earned 235 million rubles, displacing the leader of the previous two weeks, "Kraken" with Sasha Petrov, to the second line.

— Traditionally, war films arouse great audience interest on the eve of Victory Day. The drama "Not on the list" with Vladimir Mashkov is the flagship of the weekend, it shows one of the best starts among Russian films about the Great Patriotic War. The film promises to multiply its box office due to the upcoming holidays, there was no doubt about its bright start," said Olga Zinyakova.

Kraken lagged behind, however, only slightly. He has another 223 million rubles on his account. Curiously, the collections of the painting are only getting bigger every week, rather than declining, as they usually do. In the first weekend, the film brought 169 million to the box office, a week later another 178 million. In addition, the picture showed the highest average occupancy of the hall — 29 people per session. The leader of the box office has 17. Below is located "Father 2. Grandfather" with 104 million rubles. Ilya Uchitel's comedy has been at the top for a month now, and its total fees are approaching 1.5 billion rubles. Olga Zinyakova noted that the results exceeded all expectations.

- "Father 2. Grandfather is the main alternative to serious content during these holidays, people need such releases — good—natured, intelligent and very funny," she told Izvestia. — This is also a relevant film for Victory Day, because it's about a man who went through the war. About continuity and connection between generations. And the authors managed to find a suitable form to tell a rather tragic life story in the language of comedy.

In the second part of the picture, a new character appears — a grandfather soldier performed by Evgeny Tsyganov. The plot focuses on the memories of little Max (Stas Starovoitov) about his childhood, when he came to the old man in the village for the summer.

Family releases in the top of the domestic box office

The family adventure film "Treasures of the Dwarves" started from the fourth place in the Russian film distribution. The film with Nikita Kologriv earned a little more than 80 million rubles. His hero is an adventurer who, in order to solve business problems and pay off debts, writes himself into the will of an old neighbor in the country, unaware that he will receive four not the most good-natured dwarfs along with the house. The film adaptation of Viktor Dragunsky's short stories "Deniskin's Stories" closes the top 5 of the box office, which added another 60 million rubles to its account.

The new Russian cartoon "Maracuda" is on the sixth line. His fees for film releases amounted to about 45 million rubles. The music for it was written by Mikhail Chertischev, the author of the viral song Sigma Boy. Another family release, "Eyes" about fabulous forest creatures starring Willem Dafoe and Emily Watson, took the eighth place with 17 million rubles. The latest in the domestic top 10 at the end of the weekend is the thriller "Surfer" starring Nicolas Cage. He earned only about 13 million rubles.кассовые сборы
