People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Gorokhov has died


People's Artist of the Russian Federation, director and actor Nikolai Gorokhov died at the age of 75. This was announced on May 5 by the Governor of the Vladimir region, Alexander Avdeev.
"It's impossible to believe this sudden loss. He has served at the Vladimir Drama Theater since 1978, and it is very sad that the renovated stage will open without him," said a message posted on the Telegram channel of the head of the region.
Gorokhov was born on December 17, 1950 in the city of Kursk. He graduated from the Moscow Art Theater Studio School, and has worked at the Vladimir Drama Theater since 1978.
From the first years of his work in the theater, the artist was engaged in teaching at the Vladimir Regional College of Culture and Art. He also created his own acting course there.
For his contribution to his creative work, Gorokhov was awarded, among other things, the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, the Fyodor Volkov Government Prize for Contribution to the Development of Theatrical Art in Russia and the Medal for Labor Valor.
