On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in Moscow, an exhibition of military photographs by Izvestia Military Center was opened in Vorontsovsky Park on May 5. The project was named "The Day when We Won."

According to Anatoly Korshunov, general Director of the IPF Classic, architect and restorer, the exhibition features authentic printed posters from 1941-1945, as well as projects showing the artists' work on the posters before they were printed.

"The exhibition in Vorontsovsky Park features authentic exhibits that correspond to the name of the exhibition — "The Day We Won." Items related to the Great Patriotic War are arranged here in chronological order," he said.

In addition, guests of the park will be able to see memorials dedicated to the Great Patriotic War (WWII), and authentic items from this period — banners, household items and much more.

"This is necessary in order to get into the spirit of the times. Because no copies will ever convey exactly the feeling of time," Korshunov added.

According to Alexander Kochetkov, the artistic director of the Vorontsov Estate, the highlight of the exhibition will be the promenade performance, which will be shown from May 8 at 15:00 and 18:00. During it, the actors will tell in verse about the events of the war from its beginning to Victory Day. The exhibition will run from 5 to 31 May.

On May 1, the Izvestia photo exhibition "War in the Lens", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, also opened in parks, squares and historical sites of Moscow and St. Petersburg. The project demonstrates the unique works of photojournalists of the Izvestia newspaper, taken during the Great Patriotic War. On the first day of the war, 52 employees of the publication went to the front, and over 300 journalists visited the front line during the fighting.

In addition, on May 3, a unique mobile museum train arrived at Patriot Park. Its visitors will be able to see what the Soviet people went through, who, at the cost of incredible efforts and their lives, liberated the world from the fascist invaders. The train will stay in the park until May 7, and after that it will leave for Moscow, where it will be at the Belorussky Railway Station from May 8 to May 14.
