State Duma deputy Pavel Kachkaev died at the age of 74.


Pavel Kachkaev, a State Duma deputy from Bashkiria, first deputy chairman of the Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, died at the age of 74. This was announced on May 5 by deputy of the regional State Assembly Rustem Akhmadinurov.
"This is terrible news. Russian State Duma deputy Pavel Rurikovich Kachkaev has died. He was, in my opinion, the best Ufa mayor in history and one of the most humane modern politicians," Akhmadinurov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Kachkaev graduated from the Ufa Aviation Institute in 1973 and began his career as an engineer at the Ufa Instrument Manufacturing Plant. Since 1994, he has held various positions in the Ufa administration, including the post of head of the city administration from 2003 to 2011.
In 2011, Kachkaev was elected to the State Duma from the Republic of Bashkortostan and has since been re-elected in 2016 and 2021. He actively participated in legislative activities, especially in the field of housing policy and housing and communal services, being the author and co-author of numerous bills.
For his work, Kachkaev has been awarded numerous awards, including the Order of Friendship, the Order of Honor, and certificates of honor from various government agencies. He was also the coordinator of the federal party's Urban Environment project and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Housing and Communal Services Reform Assistance Fund.
