- Iran has threatened attacks on other countries when the United States attacks from their territory.

Tehran will consider as its legitimate target the territories of those countries that will be used by third countries to attack Iran, which is provided for by law in international law. This was announced on May 5 by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Ismail Bagai.
This is how the diplomat explained the Iranian Defense Ministry's statement about its readiness to strike American bases in other countries in the event of an attack from the United States or Israel.
"If the territory of any country is used to carry out attacks on Iran <...>, this point, in accordance with international law, will be considered as a legitimate target," Bagai said at a weekly press conference.
He added that any aggression from another country would be met with full force by the Iranian military.
"Our armed forces will definitely respond to any aggression and any adventurism with all their might and with full vigilance in the harshest way," the IRNA news agency quoted him as saying.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on May 1 that the country was seeking to resolve differences over Iran's nuclear program with the United States through negotiations. The minister commented on the decision to postpone the next round of negotiations between the United States and Iran.
On April 28, Araqchi noted that any Israeli attempt to attack Iranian facilities would receive an immediate response from the Islamic Republic. He also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is trying to dictate to US President Donald Trump what steps to take during diplomatic negotiations with Iran.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on April 20 that the country had never planned attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities. He explained that Jerusalem does not want to allow Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons. At the same time, The New York Times reported on April 16, citing sources in the White House, that Israel was planning an attack on Iran's nuclear infrastructure in May of this year. However, Trump rejected this initiative in favor of negotiations with Tehran.
