U.S. Charge d'affaires Julie Davis has arrived in Kiev.

Charge d'affaires of the United States in Ukraine Julie Davis has arrived in Kiev, where she will take the place of the American ambassador instead of the retired Bridget Brink. The British Embassy announced this on May 5.
The diplomatic mission stressed that the charge d'affaires was welcome in Kiev.
"After signing the historic agreement on the fund for reconstruction of Ukraine <...>, Davis arrives in Ukraine at a critical moment to continue the policy of the President [of the United States Donald] Trump's efforts to end the conflict and ensure lasting peace and prosperity in Ukraine," reads the official page of the US Embassy in Ukraine on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
On April 10, State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce announced that the US Ambassador to Kiev, Bridget Brink, had left her post. According to CBS News, her resignation is caused by an unusual combination of personal and political issues, including recent staff cuts at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). On the same day, the Financial Times newspaper clarified that the reason for Brink's dismissal was the growing level of her disagreements with the administration of the American leader and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
Later, on May 1, Bruce announced that Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio had appointed the American ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Davis, as charge d'affaires in Ukraine. According to her, Davis is "an outstanding career employee of the higher diplomatic service."
