The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense announced the allocation of € 1.1 billion over 10 years to strengthen the borders, especially with Russia and Belarus. This was announced on May 5 on the website of the country's defense ministry.

It is reported that €800 million will be allocated for the purchase of anti-tank mines, as well as electronic warfare, anti-drone systems, as well as enhanced surveillance and early warning systems.

Also, 27 parks with engineering equipment are being created along the borders with Russia and Belarus. They will also contain anti-tank "dragon teeth", anti-tank "hedgehogs" and other means created to prevent the advance of military equipment.

It is specified that it is also planned to extend the duration of anti-tank trenches.

Earlier, on April 22, it was reported that the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense would allocate €300 million to improve and develop the military infrastructure at the airbase located near the city of Siauliai amid rising tensions in the region.
