The action "Immortal Regiment" on the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) was held in the Lebanese capital Beirut. The footage is published by Izvestia on May 5, the material is provided by Al Mayadeen TV channel.

The march on May 4 was led by Russian Ambassador Alexander Rudakov and Belarusian Ambassador Yuri Sluka.

"With photos of our fathers and grandfathers in our hands, we feel proud of their eternal feat. They fought for their homeland, for their home, for their children. For you and me. They gave us life and freedom. We are deeply indebted to them," Rudakov said at the ceremony.

The diplomat noted that the sacred duty of descendants is to cherish the memory of the feat of their ancestors. The march took place from the area of the Russian Embassy in Lebanon to the "Russian House" along one of the central streets of the city.

In Cologne on May 4, participants of the Immortal Regiment action marched in the uniforms of Soviet soldiers on the eve of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. Wartime songs were performed at the event and a car rally was held.

The march of the "Immortal Regiment" this year was also held for the first time on May 1 at the residence of the Russian Ambassador in Rome. During the action, the portraits of the combatants were carried by the ambassadors and representatives of the embassies of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, as well as the Union republics, compatriots with their family members from Rome, Milan, Verona, Trieste, Bologna, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Genoa.
