On Friday, May 9, Russia will host a large-scale celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The central event of the celebration will be the traditional parade on Red Square in Moscow. Izvestia tells us whether it is possible to get to the stands of the Victory Day Parade and where to see the procession live.

Moscow, May 9th: how to get to the Victory Day Parade — 2025

Many people dream of watching the Victory Day Parade in Moscow, but it is not so easy to do so. You can get to the event only by individual invitations. They are issued to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and their family members, high-ranking military personnel, representatives of ministries, heads of friendly states and other honored guests. In addition, the number of seats in the stands of Red Square is limited — it will be possible to accommodate only 1.5–2 thousand people there.

For ordinary citizens, the best way to enjoy the Victory Day parade is to turn on the live broadcast. This way you can not only join the celebration in a comfortable atmosphere, but also examine the details of military equipment and uniforms that are inaccessible to the spectators in the stands.

You can watch the Victory March live during the dress rehearsal of the parade. In 2025, it will be held on May 7 at about 06:00 Moscow time. Military vehicles will drive along Zvenigorodskoye Highway to Barricadnaya Street, cross Triumfalnaya Square, exit onto Tverskaya, and then head through Manezhnaya to Red Square. The return route of the column passes through Vasilyevsky Descent and Kremlevskaya Embankment. The cars will pass along Mokhovaya Street, exit onto Novy Arbat, and then leave through the Barricade to the gathering point on Nizhni Mnevniki Street.

At the same time, it is important for both motorists and pedestrians to keep in mind the traffic restrictions in the center of Moscow during the rehearsal. More information about the closure of streets, pedestrian crossings and the metro can be found on the website of the Metropolitan Department of Transport.

80 years of Victory: do they sell tickets to Red Square

You can get to the Victory Day Parade on May 9 only by invitation cards, which are given to honored guests. It is impossible to purchase tickets, as they have never been on sale. Therefore, any offers from "sellers" are nothing more than a trick of scammers.

Earlier, Izvestia shared sincere congratulations and poems on Victory Day.
