Forest fire threatens Chitinsky Nature Reserve in Transbaikalia

In Transbaikalia, a forest fire has reached the Chitinsky reserve cordon. As early as the night of Tuesday, May 6, the fire may reach the natural area.
According to the ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the Telegram channel "Zapovednoe Zabaikalie", the ranger of the reserve informed the Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Territories about the fire. He called on a satellite phone and asked for help.
The inspectors of the Directorate went to the place. They have satchel fire extinguishers, a motor pump with hoses and a water tank.
Earlier, on May 4, it was reported that in the Trans-Baikal Territory it was possible to eliminate a forest fire on an area of 13 thousand hectares. He threatened the village of Zhireken, and 50 employees of the local Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to protect the settlement. As a result, firefighters extinguished the fire. At the moment, there are no forest fires in the area.
At the same time, according to the press service of the federal Aviation Environmental Protection Agency, the geography of intense man-made forest fires has expanded in the Trans-Baikal Territory, fires are "moving" from the north to the south of the region.
