- On the eve of Victory Day, Muscovites were reminded of the ban on launching UAVs and pyrotechnics.

Moscow police have warned residents and guests of the capital about the current ban on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and pyrotechnic devices ahead of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was reported on May 5 on the website of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the capital.
"The city of Moscow is a no-fly zone for all types of aircraft. By the decision of the operational headquarters of the capital, their use is prohibited. Unauthorized launch of any type of missiles entails administrative and criminal liability," the ministry said.
The Interior Ministry also urged to refrain from launching fireworks, firecrackers and other pyrotechnics, especially from balconies, near residential buildings and premises. Violation of the rules for handling pyrotechnics is punishable under Article 20.4 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of fire safety requirements"). In case of serious consequences, criminal proceedings may be initiated.
The police remind you that if drones are detected in the sky over Moscow, you must report this by calling 102.
On May 2, a man was detained in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for unauthorized drone launch. He faces a fine of 20 thousand to 50 thousand rubles. Subsequently, the man explained that he wanted to make a photo plan from the air to perform geodetic work. He was aware of the illegality of his actions, but decided to "act at his own risk."
