Three design concepts have been developed for the new airport building in Chita. Each of them reflects the nature of Transbaikalia.

The terminal building will be built as part of the reconstruction of the airport complex. Airport Director Denis Kaminsky, in an interview with ChitaMedia news agency, said that the "Forest" concept involves natural wooden surfaces, lots of live plants in waiting rooms, a light brown color scheme, and chairs in the color of rosemary.

As part of the "Ice" concept, it is planned to combine dark blue and warm shades and a ceiling with the effect of ice crystals.

The concept of "Water" includes decoration in light airy colors, smooth rounded shapes of furniture and structures, complex linear structures on the ceiling. This will be a reference to the rich water resources of the region.

The design options were presented in the form of layouts, but the final choice has not yet been made.

Earlier it was reported that the reconstruction of two projects is planned to be carried out at Chita airport. The total investment will amount to 2.8 billion rubles. The work is scheduled to be completed in 2029. By the end of 2025, the terminal's design and preparation of design estimates will be completed. The total cost of the new airport complex will amount to 7.6 billion rubles, the financing will be carried out according to the investment program of the Novaport holding.
