Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held on June 18-21, 2025, special attention will be paid to the development of the Greater Eurasian Partnership.
The transformation of the global economic architecture in the context of geopolitical turbulence requires fundamentally new approaches to trade and economic cooperation. The Greater Eurasian Partnership is considered as the most important platform for strengthening integration ties, expanding trade flows and launching joint projects in strategically important industries.
The Greater Eurasian Partnership remains one of the priorities of Russia's international activities, as evidenced by ongoing cooperation programs with a number of countries and integration associations, as well as internal initiatives aimed at deepening ties in the Eurasian space. The development of dialogue between the participating countries makes it possible to activate untapped potential, increase the resilience of economies to external challenges and set a vector for long-term growth.
In the context of sanctions pressure on Russia and its partners, deepening economic cooperation, intensifying business contacts and expanding cooperative ties within the framework of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, which continues to strengthen domestic trade and investment exchanges, transport and logistics infrastructure and financial mechanisms, is becoming increasingly important.
Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee, noted: "Today, the Great Eurasian Partnership is not just about expanding trade and logistics flows. This is an opportunity for our countries to join forces in a number of industries and areas of development in a rapidly changing world. Transport, food security, tourism, IT, finance – the convergence of our markets provides an opportunity for all participants in the Greater Eurasian Partnership to protect themselves from risks and guarantee sustainable growth in domestic demand, which is so necessary today. Our task is to create conditions in which the common efforts of all participants can be translated into concrete initiatives and projects."
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum not only retains its importance, but also provides real opportunities for promoting the Greater Eurasian Partnership, deepening humanitarian and economic dialogue, and launching new formats of interaction between the countries.
Despite the temporary difficulties caused by sanctions pressure and changes in logistics chains, cooperation within the framework of the Greater Eurasian Partnership demonstrates stability and prospects. Recent data indicate an increase in mutual interest and the preservation of fundamental points of convergence between the economies: thus, by the end of 2023, the mutual trade turnover between the partnership countries again exceeded the $ 20 billion mark, showing positive dynamics in a number of areas, including the supply of food, mineral fuels and fertilizers. There is also an increase in the number of joint initiatives in the field of logistics, digital solutions and industrial cooperation.
