Mironov called for checking the legality of housing for migrants

The head of the Fair Russia — For Truth party, Sergei Mironov, sent a letter to the Prosecutor General of Russia, Igor Krasnov, asking him to verify the legality of issuing housing certificates to migrants at the expense of the state. This was reported by TASS on April 5.
"I ask you to instruct the prosecutor's offices of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation to verify the legality of the issuance of housing subsidies, certificates and actions of officials to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the Russian Federation," the letter says.
According to Mironov, cases where "new citizens" illegally receive housing at the expense of the state budget have become more frequent in the regions of the country. The MP stressed that an alarming situation is developing, and this area is "increasingly criminalized."
Earlier, on February 15, the press service of the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (GUVM of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia) recalled that owners who rent housing to foreigners will be held administratively liable if they do not register tenants for migration. The ministry noted that this procedure does not entail additional expenses, and it can be carried out online through the Gosuslug portal.
