The expert gave tips on visually enlarging the apartment

Even in a compact apartment, you can achieve a sense of spaciousness if you choose the right lighting, color palette and furniture arrangement. In an interview with Izvestia on May 10, Fyodor Vasiliev, an expert on building materials, founder and CEO of Glavsnab, gave tips that will help visually expand the space even in a small apartment.
"First you need to choose the right colors. Light shades reflect light and visually expand the boundaries. Cold tones (blue, gray) "push back" the walls. Dark accents are acceptable, but locally," he explained.
According to the expert, mirrors are another effective solution. By installing a large mirror in front of the window, you can visually enlarge the space, and curly or composite models will help create an effect of depth in the room. However, it should be remembered that you should not abuse it: 1-2 large mirrors will be enough.
In addition, furniture also plays a key role. The expert advises using transformer furniture: built-in wardrobes, folding tables, beds with drawers, and also abandoning massive headsets in favor of "airy" models with legs.
"The lighting should be thoughtful. The two main parameters are layering and orientation. Spotlights around the perimeter of the ceiling "lift" it, and table lamps and sconces add volume," said Vasiliev.
Linear accents also help to adjust the proportions of the room. Vertical stripes on wallpaper or textiles visually "pull" the walls up, while horizontal lines expand narrow spaces.
It is better to carry out zoning without partitions. You can use different floor levels, light accents or light shelving. Screens and thread curtains will help divide the space without creating a feeling of clutter.
"Minimalism is often not a panacea. Scandinavian style, loft, or thoughtful boho chic also work. As you can see, even in a small apartment, you can create a sense of spaciousness if you use light, color and furniture wisely," Vasiliev summed up.
Earlier, on March 6, it was reported that 56% of Russians surveyed face conflicts and quarrels in a couple during the repair work. Most often, conflicts are caused by the choice of finishing materials, the choice of interior style, and budget issues. This is stated in the results of the Leman PRO research.
