Sweden and Great Britain to participate in military exercises in Finland

Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom will hold military exercises from May 12 to 31 in Finnish Lapland. This was reported on May 5 on the website of the Finnish Land Forces.

The ministry clarified that the exercises will take place at the Rowayarvi training ground. In total, about 6.5 thousand people will participate in them, of which 350 will be from the UK and 900 from Sweden.

"The purpose of the exercises is to develop the skills of planning and conducting a multinational ground operation in the northern operational area, as well as to practice the joint use of firepower, leadership, intelligence and situational awareness by the alliance," the statement said.

According to the head of the exercises, Jukka Vuorisalmi, these exercises are a continuation of the exercises of previous years to practice joint actions with Finnish allies.
