In Gorlovka, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), drivers of public transport, ambulances, and employees of public utilities will be given detectors that can detect Ukrainian drones. This was announced on May 5 by the mayor of the city, Ivan Prikhodko.

"Drivers of [public] vehicles will receive [drone detectors], bus drivers, ambulances, employees of Donbasgaz, and management companies. We will try to give out to the doctors, because they also carry out work involving a risk to life," Prikhodko said in a comment to the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

Gorlovka, located near the front line, is regularly shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

On the morning of May 5, the Russian FSB directorate for the DPR reported that the Dome of Donbass air defense and electronic warfare system had thwarted 266 terrorist attacks by Ukrainian UAVs on civilians and the region's infrastructure. Over the past week, the Dome of Donbass has detected and intercepted drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over Donetsk, Makeyevka, Horlivka and Mariupol.

Before that, on May 2, Ukrainian drones attacked firefighters while extinguishing a fire in Gorlovka. Eight employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation were injured, they had to be evacuated by tanker an hour after the start of the raid.
