A shoe was thrown at Kenyan President William Ruto during his speech on the living wage, which provoked anger from those present. This was reported on May 5 by the Reuters edition with reference to videos posted on social networks.

On Sunday, May 4, at a rally in Migori district in western Kenya, Ruto blocked flying shoes with his hand and, judging by three videos, was not injured, according to the agency's material.

"We said we were lowering fertilizer prices, is that true or not?" he said as the shoe bounced off his hand.

Kenyan Interior Minister Kipchumba Merkomen said police had arrested three people over the incident.

Earlier, on May 4, it was reported that the leader of the Turkish opposition, Ozgur Ozel, was attacked in Istanbul. The incident occurred at the exit of the building — the published footage shows an elderly man running up to the politician, surrounded by guards, and punching him in the face.
