Prices for an anti-tuberculosis drug have been reduced by an average of 47%

Prices for an anti-tuberculosis drug have been reduced by an average of 47%. This was announced on May 5 by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).
"We are talking about the first generic "Diaquinoline" in the framework of INN "Bedaquilin", both Russian and foreign production. It is indicated for use in adults and adolescents as part of a combination therapy for pulmonary tuberculosis," the FAS explained.
The prices agreed by the Federal Antimonopoly Service for a package of tablets in a dosage of 100 mg in the amount of 10 and 188 pieces are on average 47% lower than the cost of the reference drug "Sirturo".
For example, the price for a pack of 188 tablets of a domestic generic drug has been agreed at 59,126 rubles, while the cost of the same Sirturo package is 99,959 rubles. The price for a package of 10 tablets of a domestic generic drug is agreed at the level of 3,133 rubles.
FAS approval of prices for a new generic drug will increase the availability and expand the choice of such drugs for citizens after the expiration of the patent for the original. In medical organizations, it should be provided within the framework of the program of state guarantees of free medical care.
Earlier, on April 28, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the share of domestic vital medicines should grow to 90%. He believes that the main task is to make modern methods of prevention and treatment more accessible to the population.
