In the Nanai district of the Khabarovsk Territory, an elderly man died as a result of a car driving into a ditch. This was announced on Monday, May 5, by the department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the district.
The accident previously occurred at 08:19 (local time, 01:19 Moscow time) on the 14th km of the access road to Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
"The driver of the Mazda Familia car, a man born in 1953, moving from the city of Komsomolsk—on-Amur towards the village of Lidoga on the federal highway A-376 Khabarovsk - Lidoga – Vanino, entered the oncoming traffic lane and drove into the left ditch in the course of his movement," follows from the publication of the department in Telegram..
The driver died from his injuries at the scene of the accident before the ambulance crew arrived.
All the circumstances of the incident are currently being established. An investigative and operational group is working on the site, the State Traffic Inspectorate added.
Earlier, on April 3, in Tula, a Chevrolet Camaro driver drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a Toyota Camry, which crashed into a Lada Granta car, followed by a collision with a Mercedes-Benz passenger car. As a result of the accident, a woman was killed and another person was injured. Previously, no one else was injured. According to the daughter of the deceased, the culprit of the accident probably got behind the wheel drunk.
