Five prison guards were injured in an attack by prisoners in the United States.

Five prison guards in the US state of Virginia were injured as a result of an attack by six prisoners associated with the criminal group MS-13 (Mara Salvatrucha — "brigade of Salvadoran wandering ants"). This was reported on May 4 by CBS News.
"As a result of an attack by prisoners in a Virginia prison, five guards were injured, <...> most of the attackers were members of the MS-13 gang who entered the United States illegally," the publication says.
It is specified that three law enforcement officers were stabbed. The other two escaped with less life-threatening injuries.
The five attackers were confirmed MS-13 members from El Salvador. The sixth criminal belonged to another gang.
"I pray for the full recovery of the three employees of the Virginia Correctional Institution who were severely injured today as a result of a deliberate attack by members of the MS-13 gang, criminal illegal immigrants who should not have been in our country in the first place," Virginia Governor Glenn Yangkin said on the social network X (Ex. Twitter).
Earlier, on March 18, five members of the Salvadoran MS-13 gang stabbed a teenager and then set his body on fire. The exact cause of the murder is not called. According to the victim's mother, her son was threatened after saying he wanted to leave the gang.
MS-13 is a well—organized international criminal group created by immigrants from El Salvador, operating in North and Central America and numbering from 50 to 300 thousand members.
