Spouses should have both a common budget for joint spending and personal accounts. Olga Vyalshina, head of the Roskachestvo Financial Expertise Center, told Gazeta about this on May 4.Ru».

"This option will allow each of the spouses to maintain financial independence and at the same time work on common goals," the expert explained.

Vyalshina noted that both budget options have disadvantages and advantages. The general one, for example, facilitates the management of funds, as well as provides an understanding of the financial situation of the family.

However, the specialist warned that this type of budget may cause conflict if one of the family members spends more than the partner's expectations.

As Vyalshina pointed out, a separate budget gives each spouse the opportunity to have control over their finances and spend money independently. This, in turn, reduces the likelihood of quarrels about spending. But this type of budget can also lead to insufficient transparency in financial matters, the expert concluded.

Earlier, on April 16, the results of the Renaissance Insurance Group survey, reviewed by Izvestia, showed that half of the Russians surveyed (51%) positively assessed their knowledge and skills in the field of personal finance. The rest (49%) admitted to having various problems related to a low level of financial literacy.
