The Pakistani military is faced with a shortage of ammunition due to supplies to Ukraine. This was reported on Sunday, May 4, by the Indian Express (IE) newspaper.

According to the newspaper, the country only has enough weapons for four days of full-scale war.

"Pakistan's ammunition factories, which supply ammunition to the military, are struggling to cope with growing global demand and outdated production facilities," the article says.

According to reports, after the sale of 155 mm ammunition to Ukraine, the Pakistani military is experiencing difficulties in replenishing domestic stocks.
Pakistan's decision to meet international demand for weapons at the expense of the country's security was an attempt to find a balance between "economic desperation and strategic survival."

Relations between India and Pakistan have worsened after the terrorist attack on April 22 near the Indian city of Pahalgam in the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 27 civilians. Both countries have closed the only common open land border and suspended visas. New Delhi has also suspended the Indus Waters Treaty.

On April 29, Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced India's intention to launch military attacks on the country within 24-36 hours. According to him, any act of aggression will be met with a decisive blow.

On May 2, Lavrov, together with his Indian counterpart Subramaniam Jaishankar, also discussed the aggravation of Indian-Pakistani relations. The Russian Foreign Minister called for a settlement of the differences between New Delhi and Islamabad based on the provisions of the Simla Agreement of 1972 and the Lahore Declaration of 1999.
