Russian companies to build detailed 3D models of the Moon and Mars


Russian developers of space technology and services have announced the launch of a project to create the most accurate 3D models of the Moon and Mars to date. The Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Keldysh Research Center and private companies will participate in the project.
According to the initiators, the program is based on advanced domestic developments, most of which already exist in reality. This includes plasma rocket engines, optical navigation systems, high-resolution optoelectronic cameras, 3D modeling programs, and others.
According to experts, the project will combine the competencies of Russian developers and give an impetus to the development of domestic space technologies.
