Patriarch Kirill met with the Head of the Caucasus Muslim Board

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with Chairman of the Caucasus Muslim Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade in Baku on Sunday. This was announced on Sunday, April 4, on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).
"As for the relations between the Caucasus Muslim Board and the Russian Orthodox Church, thank God, these relations are strong, stable, and indestructible thanks to your personal involvement and leadership," Pashazade said.
In addition, he called the friendship with Patriarch Kirill the most sincere and fraternal.
"The friendship between our countries, our peoples, the policies of our presidents, the interaction of our countries in the economy, politics, culture — all these are important factors that create a unique atmosphere of relations between Russia and your blessed country and, of course, between us as religious figures. And I want to say once again that the relations that bind Muslims and Orthodox Christians of our countries undoubtedly play an important role in strengthening interstate relations," the Patriarch said in response.
He also wished prosperity to Azerbaijan and high general and political culture to President Ilham Aliyev. Patriarch Kirill expressed gratitude to his interlocutor for the hospitality. In conclusion, he called for continued work on the development of relations between the two states.
Earlier, on April 21, Father Stefan (Igumnov), secretary of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations for Inter-Christian Relations, told Izvestia that the Russian Orthodox Church has extensive experience in interacting with the Catholic Church during the pontificate of the late Pope Francis. According to him, a special page in this cooperation was opened by the historic meeting of Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in Cuba in February 2016.
