A snowboarder died due to an avalanche in the Magadan region.


A snowboarder was killed in an avalanche in the Magadan region. This was announced on May 4 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Telegram channel.
"In the area of the Karamken pass, a snow mass descended onto an unequipped ski slope. Two girls were trapped under the avalanche. One got out and walked to the village on her own," the department said.
After the incident, a search and rescue team of six employees and two pieces of equipment went in search of the second woman. Soon, her body was found under the snow with no signs of life.
Earlier, on February 19, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that two tourists from St. Petersburg stopped contacting in the Tanadon gorge. The climbers came to Digoria for the Taimasi-2025 ice festival. It was noted that several avalanches had descended in the gorge area where they were located. On April 30, the body of one of the missing athletes was found. The search was complicated by bad weather conditions.
