In Italy, an Atalanta fan died from stab wounds as a result of a clash with Inter football fans on the night of May 4. This was reported on the same day by La Gazetta dello Sport.

"26-year-old Riccardo Claris died in a fight that broke out between Atalanta and Inter fans shortly after 01:00 (00:00 GMT) at night on the street leading to the stadium in Bergamo. Jacopo De Simone, 19, surrendered to the police himself and is suspected of stabbing him.

According to the suspect, he allegedly had to use the knife to protect his brother. However, it is noted that there is currently no evidence of this version.

The conflict occurred due to disagreements between the fans of the two opposing teams.

"It all started shortly before that near a bar in the Borgo Santa Caterina between two small groups of fans, one of which belonged to Atalanta fans and the other to Inter," the publication clarifies the details.

The suspect has now been arrested and is in custody pending a preliminary investigation. Law enforcement officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident and the possible involvement of others in the deadly brawl.

Earlier, on March 16, a mass brawl took place in Khimki near Moscow between fans of Dynamo-2 and Kaluga football clubs. It was previously established that a verbal altercation took place between two groups of men, which provoked a fight.
