Iran conducted a test launch of a new Qassem Basir ballistic missile with a range of 1.2 thousand km. This was reported by the Mehr news agency on May 4.

"The missile has higher maneuverability after gaining experience gained during last year's two retaliation operations, known as True Promise 1 and 2, by the Israeli regime," the publication says.

It is specified that the new model is able to find one specific target among many others, as well as work without a GPS system.

"We are not enemies to our neighbors, they are our brothers, but American bases on their territory will become our targets," warned Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh.

Earlier, on May 3, Pakistan tested Abdali long–range surface-to-surface missiles amid tensions with India. At the same time, Indian officials said that Pakistan's long-range missile test was provocative and would lead to an escalation of tensions.
